About

From 2012 - 2015 I worked with Poetry In Action as both a writer and director. In this period, I directed six one-hour shows for the company: The Australians, The Citizenship Test, The United Nations of Poetry, The Elements of Rhyme, The Paper Tiger and Words of War, the last two of which I also wrote. Each show is targeted for junior high, middle school or senior high school students. The shows tour nationally to over 50 000 students each year.

We had Words of War in today and the girls just love it – as did I! We’ve studied Anthem for Doomed Youth and Dulce et Decorum est and see the actors perform them with such passion was amazing. The girls were particularly touched at the fact the actors had tears in their eyes as they performed, it just brought the poems to life.
