About
Sukhjit Kaur Khalsa shot to fame in Australia and around the world with her poetry on Australia’s Got Talent. But before she went viral, Sukhjit was a brown, hairy Sikh girl growing up in the suburbs of Perth. Fully Sikh is her story.
The show is a hilarious and heartfelt poetic procession through Sukhjit’s life, her family and her faith, all told with her trademark lyrical flow. Fully Sikh will be a sensory feast for audiences, full of music, dance, poetry and food.
As the first Aussie Sikh story to hit our stages, this is unique and unmissable.

Fully Sikh arrives, perfectly formed, at the intersections of culture, faith and humanity and asks that we listen.

Imbued with a glittering originality… the show is a vibrant showcase of Sikh culture, resounding with warmth and inclusivity.
The Australian
Fully Sikh is an immersive theatre experience that will stay in my heart for a long time. And it is difficult to imagine a better way to mark this first collaboration between Black Swan State Theatre and Barking Gecko Theatre Company
The West Australian
Fully Sikh is a fitting show to be the last of this decade for Black Swan and Barking Gecko Theatre. Funny, relevant and utterly thought provoking, it paints a portrait of multicultural Australia in an intimate way previously exclusively reserved in theatre for the portrayal of Anglo-Australian culture.
